Best of the Best

August 2020, I got enrolled in a fellowship course offered by Amal Academy. Lucky for us. This time it was an online course that had an intake of people from all the cities. This fortunate intake made me explore many people from different regions of the country and I got a chance to know about many lives and cultures that exist within Pakistan.

At the beginning of this journey, we all took some time to get comfortable with interacting online. We were letting the awkwardness set in and Amal did a great job at settling us all within the first few weeks. Although there are many things I want to share regarding the fellowship, let us just talk about the first two weeks and let me take you to a flashback of how it all happened.

This picture is from a project work that we were assigned in the second week. We had to write thank you letters to the people that we barely appreciate. For me, this experience was extraordinary because it was something that I did not come easy to me. This gave me a chance to know how effortless it was to show gratitude. I must say Amal has taught me the best ways to acknowledge things and to be thankful for all that I have, even the smallest of them.

Secondly, the learning groups every week are also unforgettable. They were the reason to interact more with fellows after the sessions. These made this journey even more memorable. Engaging with people from different backgrounds and cultures and getting to work in teams with them was an experience of its own.

Lastly, the blogs are my highlight of the fellowship. The blogs had such creative topics and gave me the perfect way to practice my passion to write. It woke up the writer within me and urged me to improve what I had an interest in from the very beginning. This made me improve my writing skills and is the reason that I am more efficient with ideas at work.

Amal Academy will always be special, not only because of the people that I have had the chance to engage with but because of the lessons it has taught me. I regained faith in myself because of this fellowship and this is the reason I can dream again. Thank you for everything!
